Your Paris day trip will begin with a commented city tour of the capital of France followed by a tour of the Louvre museum.
It is the perfect way for you to learn about the history of Paris, and admire its breathtaking architecture, to see the most famous sites and monuments of our beautiful city especially if you have a limited time, with stops along the way for you to be able to take pictures or simply to stretch out and walk to explore the different arrondissements (districts). The itinerary of your private tour of Paris will depend on the traffic and your personal interests; it is of course impossible to cover it all in one day in Paris, just share with your tour guide what your preferences are and we will give you the best tour options to show you as much as possible.
Your driver-guide will give you live commentaires while driving you in the following areas : discover the "Golden Triangle" and see the famous Champs-Elysees avenue, the 1.2 miles long avenue and one of the most beautiful in the City of Light, the prestigious avenue Montaigne home to international Haute Couture boutiques. Stop to take a picture of the Arch of Triumph, walk on the historic place de la Concorde, learn why the 3300 year old Egyptian obelisk was placed on its center (no we did not steal it ;) find out about the meaning of the Tuileries park's name, see the Madeleine Church, the French Parliament, the luxurious rue Saint Honoré shopping street, the stunningly ornate Garnier Opera House, the grandiose neoclassical Place Vendome, the former King's residence the Conciergerie, the breathtaking City Hall of Paris (Hotel de Ville in French, don't try to spend a night here), the place de la Bastille, the old Marais district, the heart of Paris, both islands Ile de la Cité and Ile Saint Louis, the legendary Notre-Dame Cathedral (made famous worldwide by Victor Hugo and sadly under renovation since the wildfire of April 2019), the Latin Quarter with its Panthéon and La Sorbonne University, the Roman baths, the Dome des Invalides which contains site of Napoleon I's tomb), of course the Eiffel Tower, facing the place du Trocadéro and the Military School) Montmartre with its incredible view of Paris and the Sacré-Coeur.
During the second half of the day, you will be able to see the highlights/masterpieces of Le Louvre museum with your expert guide. Among the 35,000 artworks exposed at the world's largest museum, your expert tour guide will adapt the tour according to your interests and will show you the ones essential to history and the history of art such as : Aphrodite, known as the Venus of Milo, the Mona Lisa (la Gioconda) by Leonardo Da Vinci, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, French paintings such as "Liberty leading the People" by Delacroix, "the Consecration of the Emperor Napoleon I" by David, "The Raft of the Medusa" by Gericault, Italian paintings by Fran Angelico, Veronese, Tiziano, admire statues such as "The Rebellious Slave" by Michaelangelo, walk in the Louvre Medieval former moat, and discover so much more!
If you wish to include the visit of a second museum or to take a guided tour inside a specific monument during the day (such as the Sainte Chapelle church or les Invalides military museum) you absolutely would need to book the services of a van with a driver plus a licensed tour guide. Please contact us for a quote. At the end of this tour, your driver-guide will drop you off wherever it is convenient for you within the city limits, back to your hotel or at your apartment or anywhere else as long as it is in Paris. This tour has a total duration of 8 hours and runs every day excepts Tuesdays (the Louvre museum is closed on that day) the first Sunday of each month, on July 14th, July 19th, Dec 25th and on January 1st. As a reminder we only give private tours, we do not regroup with other clients (no semi-private/shared tours).
